Well, I have been reading my usual list of articles that have to do with the war against Islamofascism. One of them, from Powerline, dealt with the case that would be made in favor of war against Iran through assassinations of the extremist mullahs, Ahmadinejad, and nuclear scientists working on the development of nuclear and other WMD weapons, all done by covert operatives sent by the Bush White House. I also read another article in the same blog, one of the very best out there, that reprints a story in the BBC that states that the Bush administration is putting together plans for an all-out air attack against Iran. Not only will Iranian nuclear facilities be targeted, but command and control, airfields, naval bases, military barracks, the entire Iranian military system, in effect. The conclusion made by the blogger, and by those who originally proposed it, bloggers Glenn Reynolds of Instapundit and Hugh Hewitt, are, I believe, really spot-on. It would be infinitely much more thorough and effective to kill those at the nerve center of the terrorist regime, the center of the whole world-wide Shiite radical effort, and assist the opposition groups who have the support of the overwhelming majority of the Iranian people to overthrow their masters. Possibly tens, if not hundreds of millions of people may be saved by such an act. But the ironic fact is that the left wing has so totally cowed the American political establishment, left and right and center, that such a measure will probably never happen. So we will be forced into a war of gargantuan proportions, and out of fear. The truth is, it is legal. And that is what the first Powerline story will explain.
